These hunts take place during prime winter conditions when fresh snowfall allows guides to locate and follow lion tracks across remote mountain terrain. Led by experienced local outfitter Jordan Running Wolf, each hunt focuses on ethical pursuit, safety, and maximizing opportunities through strategic tracking and hound work.
Using trained hounds, guides locate and trail lions through snow-covered country, allowing hunters to witness one of the most traditional and effective predator hunting methods in the West. Once a track is cut and dogs are released, hunters will move into position for a safe and responsible shot opportunity when conditions allow. Every day in the field is different, and success depends heavily on weather, snow conditions, and lion movement.
